Joint Meeting of the Cleaner Fossil Energy and Power Generation and Transmission Task Forces

Melbourne, Australia 31 March - April 3, 2008

On 31 March - 3 April 2008, Australia hosted a joint Task Force meeting of the Cleaner Fossil Energy (CFE) and the Power Generation and Transmission (PowerGen) Task Forces in Melbourne, Australia.  The meeting was well attended with representatives from government, industry and the research community.

The joint Task Force meeting enabled the two Task Forces to share information, examine the work of each Task Force and look at synergies between the Task Forces.  This included providing feedback on major projects, the establishment and broadening of working groups in the areas of Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) technology, Oxy-fuel combustion technology and Oil and Gas; and consideration of barriers to the deployment of low emission technologies.

The meeting welcomed Canada to its first CFE and PowerGen Task Force meeting.

In conjunction with the joint and separate Task Force meetings, seminars and workshops were held.  Presentations made at the event are available through the links below:

Seminar on Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) combined with Carbon Capture and Storage (Monday, 31 March 2008)
